In prehistory at least six human species shared the Earth, and today only one remains. Harari asks how Homo sapiens came to prevail and traces the history of humankind from the Stone Age to the twenty-first century through the cognitive, agricultural and scientific revolutions, drawing on biology, anthropology and economics.

Who it's for
For curious readers who want an overview of human history without being specialists; it raises questions about money, religion, happiness and the future of the species. It is a popular work that aims to provoke discussion rather than settle it.
Why people still read it

Why we only look at used copies

In Spain, Law 10/2007 fixes the price of new books: the publisher sets it and shops can only take 5% off. Amazon, FNAC and your local bookshop all cost the same. The only place the price moves is second-hand.
