Privacy

Your data, in a few lines.

Last updated: October 2026

What we keep

Only if you leave your email in a form: the email, the book you want to watch (for a price alert), the page you signed up from, the language and whether you've confirmed it. Nothing else: we don't keep your IP, your country or your browser.

To stop abuse, Cloudflare uses your IP briefly to limit how often the form is sent; it doesn't keep it for us. If you only browse or search for books, we keep nothing that identifies you.

What for

To write when Pecia opens, or about the book you saved. When you sign up we send a single email so you can confirm the address is yours: until you do, we send nothing else. The legal basis is your consent (GDPR art. 6.1.a), and you can withdraw it whenever you like.

What we don't do

We don't sell data. There are no ads. We don't use tracking cookies or third-party trackers, so there's no cookie banner.

To count visits we use Cloudflare Web Analytics, which uses no cookies, stores nothing in your browser and only gives aggregate numbers.

Where your data lives

All of it is stored in the European Union: the email database is Cloudflare D1 under EU jurisdiction, and Plunk, which sends the emails, keeps its data in Germany (Hetzner). Cloudflare handles each request at its location nearest you. Emails are delivered through Amazon SES in its Stockholm region; Amazon is a US company, and that transfer relies on the EU-US Data Privacy Framework and standard contractual clauses.

Providers

Cloudflare: the website, the database (EU), abuse limiting and cookieless analytics. Plunk: sending emails (data in the EU), which in turn uses Amazon SES to deliver them. All of them process data on our behalf, under their data processing agreements.

How long

If you don't confirm your email, we delete it from our database after 30 days, with your alerts. Plunk keeps the record of the confirmation email we sent you under its own policy. If you confirm it, we keep it until you unsubscribe: every email we send from then on has a link that deletes your email and your alerts from our database. You can also ask us by email.

Your rights

You can ask to access, correct, delete or take your data, or object to its use, by writing to hello@pecia.app. Every message gets an answer. If you think we got it wrong, you can complain to the Spanish Data Protection Agency (aepd.es).

Who is responsible

Facundo Farias, who makes Pecia as an individual from Barcelona. For any privacy question: hello@pecia.app.
